Then later - in a pub - after having watched the football, my friend had left and I was waiting for my son to return from the loo - a man came up to me and said
"Excuse me - I'm just trying to beg some money to get home" and I said
"Sorry"
And he looked at me and asked what the score was in the France game.
And I said "Nil-Nil".
And he went up to someone else and asked for money and they said "No", and the barmaid said
"Oi!" and he got up to leave - and on the way out he stopped and asked someone for money.
